Republic Bank Pan Weekend Celebrates the Full Range of Steel Pan Talent
The sweet sound of steel pan will take over the National Botanical Gardens when Republic Bank Pan Weekend delivers two major Crop Over events celebrating the energy, range and depth of pan in Barbados.
The weekend begins with Republic Bank Pan Lime on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 4 p.m., and continues with Republic Bank Pandemonium on Sunday, July 5, 2026, also at the National Botanical Gardens.
Together, the two events will offer patrons a full weekend of pan, moving from school and youth-based talent to some of the more established steel orchestras and groups. It is a celebration of the instrument, the players, and the important work being done to develop and sustain steel pan music across Barbados and the wider Caribbean.
Republic Bank Pan Lime will create the perfect relaxed start to the weekend. Admission is free, and patrons are encouraged to bring their blankets, chairs, coolers and picnic baskets, settle in on the grounds, and enjoy an evening of steel pan in a casual, family-friendly setting.
This event will place a strong spotlight on young and developing steel pan talent, with performances from, Notes of Praise Schools, Notes of Praise with Nazarene, Reddy Panners, and steel pan groups from St. Bartholomew’s, St Leonards’s Boys School, Foundation, Lester Vaughan School, The St. Michael School, Grantley Adams Secondary, Springer Memorial School, Daryll Jordan Secondary School, Coleridge and Parry, The Lodge School, and the Barbados National Youth Steel Orchestra Beginners.
The line-up highlights the strength of school and youth pan programmes, giving emerging players a valuable platform during the Crop Over season while allowing the public to experience the next generation of pannists in action.
Then on Sunday, Republic Bank Pandemonium will raise the energy even further with a powerful line-up featuring major steel orchestras and groups.
Patrons can look forward to performances from Republic Bank, the Barbados Community College Steel Orchestra, Alleyne and Combermere Combined Steel Orchestra, the Barbados National Youth Steel Orchestra, the Iron Massive, and Legacy Orchestra.
A major highlight of Pandemonium will be the appearance of Hell’s Gate Steel Orchestra from Antigua, which will serve as one of the marquee attractions for the event and add a strong regional flavour to the weekend’s celebrations.
Across both events, Republic Bank Pan Weekend will showcase the full journey of steel pan, from the early stages of training and development to the power and polish of experienced orchestras. It also gives audiences an opportunity to appreciate the discipline, creativity and musical skill that continue to shape the pan movement.
More than entertainment, Republic Bank Pan Weekend is a celebration of community, culture and musical excellence. It invites families, friends, pan lovers and newcomers to come out, support the players, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere that steel pan brings to Crop Over.
Whether patrons are coming to relax on Friday evening at Pan Lime or returning on Sunday for the bigger sound and spectacle of Pandemonium, the National Botanical Gardens will be the place to experience the rhythm, talent and energy of steel pan.
Republic Bank Pan Lime takes place on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 4 p.m., and Republic Bank Pandemonium takes place on Sunday, July 5, 2026, both at the National Botanical Gardens. Both are free, so bring your entire family.
